Ducati Panigale 1199 R 2016

Post by RickM »

Hi All
My Panigale is new to me since October last year.
The bike warms up from cold ok, but if ridden and left for a while, I have noticed the warm engine will hunt on idle and stall if revved slightly. Again if left to warm up more (already warm engine not cold) the problem doesn’t happen.
On some Ducati forums they mention the MAP sensors could cause the problem.
I would like to try the Melcodiag S/W to diagnose the MAP sensors and see if I have any error codes relating to this.
At the moment I have only ordered the 2 cables related on the front page from Ali Express
Thanks RickM

a quick test , unplug your sensor when the bike is iddling?
if nothing happen then the sensor is dead .
like the 2nd one in the video https://www.youtube.com/shorts/RZEVf8YMnfo

Hi JP
So i have not yet tried to remove the M sensor plugs yet, work commitments. But what i have noticed is with the hot days the bike has become hard to start, just turning over and when it did start would not idle until warm, some times the engine would cut out when approaching a round about. This is different to the colder months, at least it would start easy and idle until warm.
After connecting Melco diag i recorded the below M sensor readings, either the V or H remained at 0, is this an indication of a faulty sensor?
Engine was not started, just turned bike on.

you should check sensor engine running.
if it stay on 0 our 254-255 the the sensor is dead.
if you need to replace MAP sensor, yes a reset could be usefull even if i never saw a big difference doing it

RBLI( read by local identifier) is used for debugging on purpose ,you can check some live data with it
