Hey JP. I did some more investigating. I wasn't able to poll pid 024 initially but eventually got it to read, still high throttle. Tried reading and resetting DTC a few times followed by TPS reset which triggered the DTC "TPS Self-calibration interrupted". Got frustrated and decided to look at the APS one final time.

For anyone reading this DO NOT TAKE APART THE APS/ THROTTLE GRIP. It is a nightmare to reassemble the spring once it pops out. I only did because I had done it in the past accidentally and wanted to double check that I put it back together correctly. I believe I did though may have shifted something out of place in the process.

Anyway, JP, I didn't completely disassemble the APS this time just loosened the screws as much as I could without it completely coming apart. This allowed me to close the throttle a bit more than normal. The 024 pid reading went from 5A down to 08. I reset the DTC and tried the TPS reset again. The message at the bottom of the MelcoDiag window said "reset failed" but I went to check DTC and there were 0 faults still :D . I turned the ignition off and then back on and decided to try to start the bike again.

It still isn't idling properly but now it idles around 3k rpm so it can at least stay running for a bit though it doesn't sound happy. I'm not sure but I believe this means that the TPS was reset at least partially but it looks like now I need some way to reset the APS to actual 0. Any suggestions?

Good news aps is back to lower value
I don’t think it need to be resettled as the option is not existing
It’s may be still too high 4%

I will display the fault in the footer to see the reset feedback
I will let you know once I upload it

Can you confirm the aps is read in the passive tab when you tick the option ? TPS shall be read as well

For reading the pid you need to tick the option and to click on the pid to pass it blue

aps is working , you can check if the value is linear vs throtle angle
i'll code TPS1 and TPS2 when you will identify it in the 024 pid

Hey JP! I did some more investigating and then actually decided to take the bike out for a ride to see how it performed. Everything is back to normal and the bike rides like a dream!! No issues with wide open throttle, looks like the throttle body replacement did it's job, no more check engine lights and no weird behavior! Lots more power too which is amazing.

I did just change the oil on the bike and I need to reset the "Date Service" light at some point which I believe isn't working for me in the software so if you have some time I'd love to help troubleshoot that if needed.

I want to pay you or make a donation for all of the time you spent helping me and building and maintaining this amazing tool. What is the best way for me to do that? should I just use the "Donate" button listed in MelcoDiag?

i check my aps is 0°when it's released
1% and i'm already beyond 3000rpm
that's probably the condition to reset TPS , APS shall be 0 else it won't reset TPS
