For bikes using the can line usually from 2010 and up
works with elm cables only

EVO 1100 Not communicating properly

Downloaded latest verstion of Melcodiag
I/F is ELM 327 v 1.5 as detected by MD
Comm driver installed without issue
Speed is 38400
ECU set to M3C
Could not request license due to Missing Data
Selector switch on I/F set to SH
Key Switch is on, Not Engine

the CAN ERROR message is not good at all .
Have you tried the other switch position ?

Yes, the other position, and also oher speeds. Everything but the current setting resilts in popups complaining that communications is not working.
In this setting at least I get a lot of blinking green and yellow lights.
If i switch to the "all bikes" setting I also get a lot of blinking lights, but still, lots of missing data.

what data are you getting ?

Good News1.
I got it to work.
I have a Monster 696 as well.
I tried using that and got pretty much exactly the same resuits.....even when I tried with the Key OFF.
I did not believe that to be right.
Tried other USB ports, and finally found one that would work.
I have submitted for both licenses.
The EVO reports "Vin = 0060457571 "
The 696 reports "Vin = 0060229322 "
