Hi Guys, New member thats having difficulty resetting desmo service light.
Downloaded melocdiag and got the licence.
I've the right cable, I think, because the lights flash when trying to reset.
Multistrada 1200s 2011 15,006 miles
Ecu MELCO HIMEJI
Hardware J001
Software version 00000007

My problem is that when I go to press the reset desmo service on the software, the light flash for a few seconds on the obd but desmo service still lit up on dash.
Am I doing something wrong? I've watched a guy called Spanner Rash who has the same bike and followed all he did, but light won't go out / reset.
Apologies if been asked a 1000 times but new to all this.
Desmo service has been done this yr but was done before light came on so looking to get it turned off now,

as i there is no VIN grabbed on your bike , the exact command to reset the desmo is unknow.
according tho the year and model , sometimes the desmo and service reset are exchanged.
so you have to test the 4 set :
choose 2010 and press service and desmo
choose 2011 and press serive and desmo

one of this comand will works

it doesnt give me the option of a 2010 model, just a 2011 and 2012.
Ive pressed both desmo reset and service interval in both 2011 and 2012 yrs but still doesnt reset the light.
This is the debug report if it helps me further.
hope it can be resolved.

UPDATE
I went into dtc and got it to find the ECU, as there was no ecu showing at all, once it did, the fans came on and a few seconds later, the desmo service light went off... so we got there in the end.

thanks for the update , but it shall not works like that .
it seems a deep reset happened , it can also reset other things you don't want to reset .
and yes 2010 and 2011 use same commands , so it's not an issue
