Vespa Primavera 125 i3 connection problem

Post by lygi »

Hi, I’m trying to connect to my Vespa Primavera 125 3V (2014) but I cannot establish communication with the ECU.

Setup:
- Interface: KKL cable with FTDI FT232RL (chip confirmed)
- Adapter: FIAT 3-pin → OBD with 12V and GND cables
- +12V connected from battery
- Ground connected to battery negative

What I verified:
- K-line is present and switches 12V ↔ 0V when the interface transmits
- COM port works and drivers are installed correctly
- Tried connecting with ignition ON and also turning ignition ON after pressing Connect
- Also tested bridging L-line to K-line

TEST 1: PASSED - I can read 0 or 12V on te line
TEST 2 PASSED

However the ECU never responds

Has anyone successfully connected to a Primavera 125 3V (around 2014) and knows:
- whether L-line is required
- or if there is anything specific about this model? I'm running out of ideas

Thanks!
