I am having the same issue of not connecting. I am on Windows 11 and using this cable (
https://obd247.com/products/obd2-diagno ... ini-jpdiag) on a 2002 998. I check the ports (COM8, 38400) and launch the JPDIag app. When the app launches, if I try the upper option (Fast Init) I get a green bar and the area to populate the license is blank. When I choose the lower option (Slow Init) the application hangs and never comes back.
I have the alligator clips connected to the battery tender cable so the red light on my cable lights up. I did notice there are options under the COM port for Parity and other settings. Could my issue be there? Any other things I can try? I appreciate the help.

The cable I have is the FTDI version. I have tried all three cable options, but none work. When I select the Galleto option and then slow init I get the green bar. When I turn on the key the app freezes. Is the Ducati Diag version available or an older JPDiag that may work?
