Could it be that I need a specific software to set the ELM 327 in the proper way? The elm cable has been delivered with a paper saying to download the proper software, but I guess it's the case when you need to use it on cars. I've also read on a previous thread that you said 1.5 interface could have some problems and a 1.4 could do the job better, but at this point I'm pretty lost.
Yes the cheap elm1.5 won’t work well
But at least you should see under the connect button the elm name and version as proof of good settings
Some cable based on STN chipset use speed from 115200 to 1000000. So there is plenty of possibilities
If you can’t initiate the communication with the elm
Either you are not checking the right comport either the spoken is not good

I have to be honest, I never did see something under the "connect" button, no ELM name or ELM version... At this point I am just thinking it's the ELM clone's fault. The only thing that could be something similar to a version is the "2.0.4.6", but I guess it's referring the MelcoDiag version.
I looked after some reliable ELM v1.4 cables (you mentioned some good brands in a past thread) but I couldn't find anything.

LeonardoDD750 e Moorning, Mi scuso con tutti, ma scrivo in Italiano così mi spiego meglio:
se non volete avere problemi di connessione/comunicazione, lasciate perdere i cavi cinesi, perchè per trovare quello giusto ne dovete acquistare 10 e forse uno funzionerà. (lo dico per esperienza ne ho uno scatolone) e poi anche trovandone una ''buona'' si avranno sempre problemi di driver usando le porte USB.
Come già detto, più volte anche su questo forum, ci sono le indicazioni precise sul tipo di elm da prendere. Io ho risolto molti problemi con quella Bluetooth Lonelec.
Per il resto, basta leggere , e cercare nel forum, ci sono tutte le info per risolvere le problematiche più comuni.

Ho provato a navigare un po' nei post passati del forum ma sinceramente non avevo notato che qualcuno avesse effettivamente trovato la quadra della questione. Visto che mi hai messo la pulce nell'orecchio ti chiedo in primis come fare a collegare il pc che non ha il modulo bluethooth, e dove eventualmente acquistare il cavo lonelec. Inoltre ti volevo anche chiedere se potresti mandare i link di queste discussioni passate, grazie.
For everyone that will read this thread; I finally managed to solve the problem. The issue was the ELM 327 chinese clone cable. After following jp's advice I purchased a lonelec cable (spent around 30€ shipping included) but managed to connect with the bike in a few seconds and automatically get the license too.
