2010 Multistrada - Connects, communicates, won't reset

Post by firebladeboy1993 »

Hi All,

I have a 2010 Multistrada 1200s that I'm trying to reset the Desmo service warning on.

i have had no problems hooking up the bike and Melcodiag software is able to connect and communicate with the bike (I'm able to poll different settings etc). However, when I press either the Service or Desmo reset buttons, the app hangs and does nothing. Subsequent button pushes get the spinny wheel and "app not responding' from windows.

I have this connector https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/204528012749 which I'm assured works with Ducatis though I note it's showing as Elm V1.5 on the Melcodiag software.

Does anyone have any solutions please? I have searched but couldn't find anything specifc.

Thanks!

you can press service button instead .
and if it's still not working , choose the 2nd model date option , and try the 2 reset buttons again

Hi JP,

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, tried that, with the same result.

In fact, most of the buttons seem to result in a lockup of the app after pressing, even ones that work, like the Speedo and Rev counter tests.

Any further advice?

Yes, no VIN retrieved so I get to select 2011 or 2012 (my bikes a 2010) Tried both options with the same result.

Testing various options, most (but not all) of the passive tests work OK but the Active tests, even if they work, trigger the app to hang.

Here's the dump data:

Looks prettty generic - not sure if there's anything there that will help?

Ah, OK, So you think, even though the App hung, it's reset the service/desmo data? The Desmo service display was showing -100 but it only shows periodically, so it's possible it's been reset. I'll go for a ride when it stops raining to find out 🙂

Thanks for the help and for providing the tool. It'll be great as it develops further and the loose-ends are tied up!
