License process

Post by tarmac31 »

Hey JP,

I've tried a few things to get the license to come through but without success, can you advise?

Here's what I did on my last attempt.

1. Connected the laptop to the internet, connected the OBD2 to the bike and laptop.
2. Turned on the bike ignition (without starting). OBD2 has red light.
3. Started Melcodiag on the laptop. Connected using correct com port and baud rate. Lights flash on OBD2 and data is received
4. Entered the bike make/model/year. Selected Oil Service. Selected Anybike. Debug Information for Report and registration remained ticked.
5. Clicked write report. File was written to the Melcodiag folder - I did find a problem previously here, that if windows folder protection is on, the file cannot be written, The fix was to allow write in the windows security settings.
6. Clicked the Get License Blue button and got to the registration webpage, and noted the prefilled information with the 4 empty lines at the top.

7. Added the required info Bike and email, then clicked send which gave an the error "Be sure you are using the right software and the rights cables for connecting to your bike , data are incomplete!
an m3c ecu use m3c9 software , a fuji ecu use melcodiag , a marelli 5am,5sm,59m,miu use jpdiag1
back, clic here
"

8. I checked the forum and a post mentioned adding no ecu data to he top line so I did that and got the Mail sent message. But still no license came through.

This was the diag file contents (VIN obscured for forum post).

hope you got it now
it's not an automated process , i need to be arround to generate the key , so it may need 24hours before getting it

by the way the step 5 create a report is not needed in the registering process .
it's usefull only for debugging in case of troubles by posting this report on the forum

Thank you. I wasn't sure if was automatic or manual so i appreciate you patience. There is a slight delay in me testing this as I flattened the battery with he tests I was doing so waiting for a new lithium type charger to arrive. Hopefully today.
Will update soon.

Here is something unexpected.

I got the charger and recharged the battery. When connected, The service light was no longer visible. I hadn't reset with Melcodiag yet.
I had to reset the date and time through the dash, so I did that, and while I was in there, I also checked the due date for the maintenance and it's listed date is still due a few days ago (mid May), so the light should be on (I think), but it's not.
Has anyone else experienced that? Should I attempt to reset it anyway?

I have also checked that Melcodiag is registered license is valid (and I'll do a donation when I get home later tonight).
